Was reading through an older issue that I found in a stack of fishing magazines when I came upon an article about coal miners.
Article was in the 9/06 issue. Writer visited Coeburn, Clintwood, Clinchco, Norton.
Called Coeburn a 'tiny coal camp town'.
I guess he didn't drive through Trammell or Dante.
It was a really good article. He spent some time underground at Paramont's DM26, interviewed a couple of the miners (Chris Stanley, Jimmy Ellis, Carson Vanover), the supt. of the mine (Henry Keith), spent some time at a couple of miner's houses, etc.
The only negative was the usual urban/city dweller's contempt for us laid back country folk.
